Telegram moderation and group tools
Banned words, warnings, admin commands, captcha, scheduled messages and menus.
Everything here lives in Telegram, under the moderation, scheduled msgs and menus tabs. It's included on every plan that has Telegram.
Make your bot a group admin with Delete messages and Restrict members. Without these it can't remove messages, mute or ban. If an action fails, you get a dashboard notification.
Banned words
In the keyword filter card, turn on auto-delete messages containing banned words and add your words (up to 500, each 3 to 100 characters).
- A match deletes the message, tells the sender privately which word it was, and adds one warning.
- Matching ignores capitals and catches the word inside longer words, so "scam" also catches "scammer". Pick words with care.
- It checks text and captions in groups, including edited messages. Group admins are never filtered.
The warning ladder
Warnings add up, and at the numbers you set (in escalation thresholds) the bot acts on its own:
| Default | What happens |
|---|---|
| 3 warnings | Muted for 60 minutes (you can set 1 minute to 7 days) |
| 5 warnings | Removed from the group (they can rejoin) |
| 7 warnings | Banned permanently |
Warnings expire after 30 days. Every action is listed in the moderation log, which you can filter by type and by the last 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days.
Admin commands in the group
Reply to the person's message with one of these. Only group admins can use them.
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/warn | Adds a warning (counts toward the ladder) |
/mute 1h spamming | Mutes for a time (like 30m, 2h, 1d). No time = your auto-mute length. |
/kick | Removes them; they can rejoin |
/ban 7d | Bans for a time, or permanently with no time |
/unwarn /unmute /unban | Undo |
Anything after the command (and time) is saved as the reason. The bot posts a short public notice after each action.
Join security
In the join-gate security card:
- auto-kick bots on join: removes other bots that join. Off by default.
- CAS spammer lookup: bans people on the public CAS spammer list. On by default.
- captcha challenge on join: new members are muted until they tap I'm human. Set the time limit (15 to 600 seconds) and what happens if they don't: ban, kick, or ban and delete the captcha message.
Scheduled messages
In scheduled msgs, post a message (up to 4,000 characters, with an optional GIF) or one of your menus to a chat. Send it once, every 2, 3, 4, 6 or 12 hours, every day or every week.
Menus and welcomes
- Menus: cards with buttons, opened by a command you choose, like
/links. - Welcome on join: turn it on under Brandingmember welcome. See Welcomes.
Commands for members
/escalatewith a note: emails you and adds it to UnansweredFeedback./reportbugand/reportfeature: land under Unanswered, Bugs and Features.
Not available yet
Flood control, slow mode and a link filter aren't built for Telegram yet. You can add common link pieces (like t.me/) as banned words in the meantime. These tools are for business workspaces; Web3 projects don't have them yet.
